Vasse Virgin is an Australian owned and operated business, manufacturing all natural soap and skin care products using extra virgin olive oil as the key ingredient.
Initially created over 20 years ago to suit even the most sensitive of skins, we remain committed to providing you with natural alternatives to commercially made skin care products. Visitors can test and try the natural products for themselves, witness the manufacturing processes taking place, receive advice and assistance from our team members, sample from the complimenting gourmet food line, or take part in a D.I.Y. style workshop or master class learning how to create their own!
Visitors can enjoy the ultimate olive oil experience at the Wilyabrup WA and Barossa Valley SA soap factories, with additional retail-only stores located in Margaret River WA and Belvidere SA. Vasse Virgin also supplies to over 30+ Australian and international stockists.
What We Do:
Our production team members are tasked with crafting the luxurious, natural products that your body will savour. It's literally a hands-on position, using only the finest natural ingredients that Mother Nature offers. It's important to have a passion for creating the highest quality product, every time. Production takes place in full view of our visitors, so you'll often interact with them too, therefore a big smile is always a must!
Our retail team members are the smiling, friendly face of our beautiful stores. Meeting and greeting every visitor is an incredibly important job, and it's essential that you possess a genuine love of our products and a desire to assist people of all ages, gender, abilities, and races. As part of a working team, you'll be on your feet and moving throughout the day - but time flies when you're having fun!
Our office team members are the behind-the-scenes heroes, who keep everything running smoothly. Highly organised and widely knowledgeable, it's vital you can also be flexible to operate across all areas where needed. They're a formidable bunch, capable of taking on any challenge!

Our products are formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances, sulphates or artificial colours — the ingredients most commonly flagged during pregnancy. Yes. Vasse Virgin does not test any of our products or ingredients on animals. We never have and never will.

Are Vasse Virgin products vegan?
Almost all of our products are vegan. The exceptions are products containing beeswax, goat's milk or honey — including our balm range, Goat's Milk Soap and Honey & Wheatgerm Soap. All other products are completely vegan friendly. Each product page lists the full ingredient list so you can check before purchasing.

Are Vasse Virgin products palm oil free?
Yes. Vasse Virgin products do not contain palm oil. We use Australian extra virgin olive oil as our hero ingredient, combined with botanical extracts and pure essential oils — no palm oil derivatives.

How Vasse Virgin Began
Vasse Virgin began in 1996 on a sheep farm in Kojonup, Western Australia. All three of our children had sensitive, reactive skin from birth — but our son Jarrad's reactions were so severe that doctors advised us not to use standard skincare products on him at all. As parents we refused to accept there was nothing better, so founders Louis and Edwina Scherini started making their own. Olive oil based, chemical free, starting with a bucket and wooden spoon in the family kitchen. The soap and the skin balm came first — made specifically for our kids' skin.
Word spread. Neighbours wanted it. Friends asked for more. Before long we were making so much product for people in our community that we realised something — there were thousands of Australians out there with the same problem and nowhere near enough good quality natural skincare to help them. So we decided to turn it into a business.
Thirty years later all three of our children still use Vasse Virgin products daily — because nothing else works as well on their skin. That's not marketing. That's the whole point.
We now produce from our Margaret River and Barossa Valley factories — still handmaking in small batches, still using Australian extra virgin olive oil, botanical actives and pure essential oils, still putting sensitive skin at the heart of everything we make.
